Krillion: How to Play the Daily Dive (Rules, Reset & Scoring)

By the Minigamely editorial team · Updated

Krillion is a free daily trivia game at krillion.io: every day everyone gets the same seven prompts, and you answer with a word or name. Rarer, still-correct answers score higher (“rare answers sink you deeper”). This page is an evergreen how-to-play guide. We do not publish today’s answers or spoilers — play the official Daily Dive on krillion.io.

How a dive works

  1. Open krillion.io and start today’s Daily Dive.
  2. You get seven prompts. Each asks for a word or name that fits the clue.
  3. Type an answer. Accepted answers can include aliases; the official FAQ notes that autocorrect can be generous because many answers have alternate names.
  4. Your score depends on how rare a correct answer is within that prompt’s answer set — obvious picks barely count; obscure-but-fair picks go deeper.
  5. You get one Daily Dive per day. Extra packs and unlimited modes, if offered on the official site, are separate from the shared daily.

When does Krillion reset?

The Daily Dive rolls over at 04:00 UTC (midnight US Eastern during daylight saving time). Use the table as a quick check; the official clock on krillion.io is authoritative if they ever change it.

Time zone Local reset
UTC 04:00
US Eastern (EDT, UTC−4) 00:00 (midnight)
US Pacific (PDT, UTC−7) 21:00 previous calendar day
UK (BST, UTC+1) 05:00
Central Europe (CEST, UTC+2) 06:00
India (IST, UTC+5:30) 09:30
China / Singapore (UTC+8) 12:00 noon
Japan / Korea (UTC+9) 13:00
Sydney (AEDT, UTC+11) 15:00

In US standard time (Eastern UTC−5), 04:00 UTC is 23:00 the previous evening Eastern — the same “midnight Eastern” product habit, shifted one hour.

How scoring / rarity works (no spoilers)

From the official Krillion FAQ:

  • Answer sets are curated by aggregating dictionaries, wiki pages and other sources that fit the prompt, then cleaning them into one set.
  • Rarity is measured differently per prompt: some are scored mechanically against how often a word or name shows up in what people read and write; others use a mix of tooling and a manual pass.
  • The “Krillion” (the gem answer) is not chosen on rarity alone — past a certain depth, the official FAQ says the gem is also picked for fun factor so someone can actually land it.
  • If your answer is missing, the creator may simply not have found that source yet.

We do not list today’s prompts, accepted answers, or point values here.
